Dozens of members of Hamas, which said it carried out the attack, have been arrested.

The killings came ahead of the first direct talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders in two years.

Officials are gathering in Washington for discussions, before the Israeli and Palestinian leaders meet on Thursday.

US, Palestinian and Israeli officials have said they will not allow the attack, near Hebron, to undermine the talks.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned the killings as a “blatant attempt” to undermine the upcoming negotiations.

In a political memoir Blair echoed previous statements that the 2003 invasion was justified because Saddam Hussein posed a threat and could have developed weapons of mass destruction.

The self-penned volume “A Journey” was published on the day the United States formally ended combat operations in Iraq after a conflict that claimed more than 100,000 deaths, most of them civilians.

Blair, 57, said he felt “desperately sorry” for the lives cut short, but said the mistaken belief that Saddam was hiding weapons of mass destruction was an “understandable error.”

‏2‏ ـ صدر عن وزارة الأوقاف عدد من الموسوعات‏:‏ الفرق والمذاهب والتصوف الإسلامي والفلسفة الإسلامية والحضارة الإسلامية وموسوعة أعلام الفكر الإسلامي وقد أشرف وقدم لها د‏.‏زقزوق وزير الأوقاف واعتذر في المقدمة عن صعوبة الإلمام بكل المفكرين الإسلاميين‏,‏ لأن هذا يحتاج الي سنوات ومئات العلماء‏,‏ ولكنه انجاز عظيم لوحدث‏.‏

 

ولأنه لم يكن هناك تعريف للمفكر الإسلامي فقد دخل الموسوعة من هم مسملون فقط مثل القراء‏:‏ محمد رفعت وعلي محمود ومصطفي اسماعيل والحصري‏.‏
واتسعت الموسوعة للعلماء الذين لاتراث اسلاميا عندهم مثل‏:‏ أحمد زكي وعباس بن فرناس ومحمد خليل عبد الخالق‏,‏ اتسعت للعسكري الثوري عزيز علي المصري الرجل الذي ينتقل من ثورة الي ثورة ومن بلد إلي بلد حتي اشترك في التمهيد لثورة يوليو‏.‏
وضاقت الموسوعة عن مفكر اسلامي عظيم هو الرئيس عزت بوجوفيتش‏.‏
والرئيس بوجوفيتش له أهمية خاصة وهو أن أصدر كتابين بالاسلوب الذي يفهمه الأوروبيون‏.‏ وهو بذلك يصلح خطأ وقعنا فيه وهو أننا نكلم الأوروبيين بلغتنا‏,‏ فلا يفهمون‏,‏ ولكن بوجوفيتش كان رائعا في كتابيه‏.‏
أما الذي يدعو للدهشة حقا فإن الموسوعة قد ضاقت بطه حسين وتوفيق الحكيم‏,‏ لماذا؟ لا نعرف ولا الوزير أشار في المقدمة إلي هذا الموقف من اثنين من أعلام الفكر الإسلامي دون ذكر لأسباب المنع والشجب والحجب والحذف‏!!‏
