بيع شبحين على الانترنت بنحو 1500 دولار

قالت وسائل اعلام نيوزيلندية ان امرأة باعت قنينتين تعتقد ان باحداهما شبح رجل عجوز وبالاخرى شبح فتاة صغيرة بنحو 2000 دولار نيوزيلندي (1410 دولارات أمريكية) بعد مزاد ساخن على الانترنت.

وقالت افي وودبيري لتلفزيون نيوزيلندا انها امسكت بالشبحين بعد جلسة في منزلها كلفتها تعويذة بنحو مئة دولار.

No terrorism link to Pentagon shooting: police

A California man who was fatally shot after opening fire on security officers outside the Pentagon appears to have been acting alone, with no links to domestic or international terrorism, police said on Friday.

The gunman, identified by authorities as 36-year-old John Patrick Bedell, was apparently trying to gain entry to the giant U.S. Defense Department headquarters when he approached a security checkpoint and started shooting, police said.

Chile rushes troops, aid to quake-stricken towns

 Chile scrambled on Monday to provide aid to tens of thousands of homeless people in areas devastated by a massive earthquake and tsunamis, and 10,000 troops patrolled to quell looting.

The 8.8 magnitude quake on Saturday killed 711 people and the death toll was expected to rise. Harrowing scenes of destruction emerged in isolated towns swamped by giant waves triggered by one of the strongest quakes in a century.

Small plane is crashed into tax offices in Texas

An apparently disgruntled man crashed a small plane into a federal building housing U.S. tax offices in Austin, Texas on Thursday in what local officials said was likely a deliberate attack.

Two people were taken to the hospital after the crash that set ablaze the seven-story building, Austin fire officials said. The pilot, identified by law enforcement sources as Joseph Andrew Stack, was found dead.

Bill Clinton leaves hospital after surgery

 Former US president Bill Clinton left hospital early Friday after doctors successfully cleared up a clogged artery following his hospitalization for chest pains, an aide said.

Douglas Band said Clinton was released from New York Presbyterian Hospital “in excellent health” and was resting at home in Chappaqua, New York.

The 63-year-old Clinton could be back at work on Monday and “resume his very active lifestyle,” his cardiologist Allan Schwartz told reporters, adding that he had not suffered a heart attack.

New aerial NYPD photos of 9/11 attack released

 Newly released aerial photos of the World Trade Center terror attack capture the towers’ dramatic collapse, from just after the first fiery plane strike to the apocalyptic dust clouds that spread over lower Manhattan and its harbor.

The images were taken from a police helicopter — the only photographers allowed in the air space near the towers on Sept. 11, 2001. They were obtained by ABC News after it filed a Freedom of Information Act request last year with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, which investigated the collapse.

UN defends Haiti relief as airlifts resume

The UN’s humanitarian chief on Monday admitted the Haiti relief effort was struggling as the United States prepared to resume airlifts of quake victims after a dispute over who would foot the bill.

Nearly three weeks after the 7.0-magnitude quake that killed about 170,000 people, more than a million survivors are homeless and living in appalling conditions, desperately short of food, water and medical attention.

The huge international relief effort is struggling under the sheer scale of the disaster to reach where it is most needed, and there are growing concerns over the safety of vulnerable women and children.

Auschwitz victims mourned on 65th anniversary

Sirens wailed as Auschwitz survivors, Soviet veterans and leaders including Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday marked the 65th anniversary of the notorious Nazi German death camp’s liberation.

“From this place,e I swear as the leader of the Jewish people, never again shall we allow evil to hurt our people,” Netanyahu said in a keynote address at the commemoration.
