The six major powers will delay until November a decision on whether to impose tougher sanctions on Iran over its controversial nuclear programme.
The five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany said they would wait until they saw reports from the UN and EU before drafting a resolution.

Tehran denies Western accusations that it is trying to build a nuclear weapon.

On Tuesday, Iran’s president said the sanctions were “illegal” in a speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the debate over his country’s nuclear programme was “closed” and that the issue was now in the hands of the UN’s nuclear watchdog.

اتفق 15 رئيسا للتحرير في صحف حزبية ومستقلة في مصر على الامتناع عن إصدار صحفهم يوم الأحد السابع من أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول المقبل.

ويأتي هذا الموقف احتجاجا على ما يرون أنه اعتداء من جانب الحكومة على حرية الصحافة.

وكانت قد صدرت أخيرا أحكام بسجن سبعة من الصحفيين بتهم من بينها إهانة قيادات في الحزب الحاكم وتحريف تصريحات لأحد الوزراء.

Israel and the Palestinians could sign a peace deal within six months of an international peace conference scheduled for November, Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas told AFP on Friday.

“The meeting in November should define the principles settling the questions over the final status (of the Palestinian territories),” Abbas said in an interview in New York, where he is attending the UN General Assembly.

قال رئيس الوزراء العراقي نوري المالكي يوم الجمعة إن من شأن تنفيذ التوصية التي صدق عليها مجلس الشيوخ الامريكي مؤخرا بتقسيم العراق الى ثلاث فدراليات – كردية وشيعية وسنية – ان تنزل كارثة بالبلاد.

وقال المالكي في تصريحات نقلتها قناة (العراقية) التلفزيونية الرسمية إن “على المشرعين الامريكيين الوقوف مع العراق لدعم وحدته وسيادته بدل الدعوة لتقسيمه. إن تقسيم العراق سيكون كارثة ليس بالنسبة له وحده بل بالنسبة للمنطقة برمتها.”

Turkey and Iraq on Friday signed an agreement to crack down on Turkish Kurd rebels based in northern Iraq, but Turkey failed to secure a right for cross-border military operations.

The two countries pledged to “prevent the activities of terrorist organisations and primarily the PKK,” Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay said after he and Iraqi counterpart, Jawad Al-Bolani, signed the accord at the end of three days of thorny negotiations.

Turkey says the separatist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) enjoys free movement in northern Iraq, where it has long taken refuge, and obtains weapons and explosives there for attacks across the border. The PKK is listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and much of the international community,

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad invited President Bush to speak at an Iranian university if the American leader ever traveled to the Islamic Republic, state-run television reported Friday.

Ahmadinejad caused an uproar during his visit to New York this week when he spoke at Columbia University. He faced tough questioning and the university’s president introduced him by saying Ahmadinejad exhibited “all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator.”

The White House criticized Myanmar on Friday for cutting off Internet access and called on “all civilized nations” to pressure the military-run government to end its violent crackdown on protesters.

“They don’t want the world to see what is going on there,” White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said.

وعن سبب ندمها قالت لانى ظهرت فى الفيلم بشكل مشوه بعد ان تم حذف العديد من مشاهدى رغم انه من المفترض اننى البطلة الثانية للعمل بعد ياسمين عبدالعزيز وبصدق فوجئت بهذه الاختصارات مما ادى لتشويه دورى ومن ثم فإن العمل أساء إلى بدلا من أن يزيد من رصيدى ومن ثم فانا لست مستعدة للدخول فى مثل هذه التجربة مرة ثانية .
