Israel pounds more Gaza targets
The Israeli army launched a fresh round of air strikes on Gaza, hitting more than 30 targets over the past 24 hours, including the Palestinian interior ministry building, BBC reported.
While thousands of Israeli forces massed along both sides of the Israel-Gaza border, the Israeli army fired hundreds of artillery shells and missiles, destroying roads, bridges and power plants.
Israeli missiles also struck the office of the Palestinian interior minister in Gaza city shortly after midnight Thursday, setting the building ablaze.
Other hit targets included an office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, resistance training camps, a weapons storage facility in Gaza City and sites allegedly used by fighters to fire rockets at Israel.
Witnesses also said an Israeli warplane fired a missile at the pro-Hamas Islamic University in Gaza City, setting off a huge explosion. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
